Today's session on domestic abuse reminded me of wicked problems and the law of unintended consequences. Domestic abuse is common, under-reported, undesirable, costly and complex. Causes, consequences and modulators are not separable and interventionists often have little to show for their efforts. Webs are dynamic open systems; think ecology, not crystalisation.
